The similarity in the characters' names (Phil, Bill) made me smile. I think I've seen that quite often. And the cast of thousands. Yes, I did that too in my very first novel. I needed to keep a list nearby to check who had spoken and who hadn't for too many chapters. Good I don't do that anymore.
